Luke 1:26 · World English Bible
Now in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,
God does the sending, and the angel carries nothing of his own. Nazareth held a few hundred people and appears nowhere in the older Scriptures, so God's word reached a place the world had no reason to watch.

PROTESTANT
God does the sending, and the angel carries nothing of his own.
Nazareth held a few hundred people and appears nowhere in the older Scriptures, so God's word reached a place the world had no reason to watch. The sixth month counts off a promise already running, so this arrival belongs to something God had been doing for months before anyone in Nazareth heard of it. What starts here is the rescue Christ came to carry out, and it comes to people as an announcement from God rather than an achievement of theirs.

ORTHODOX
God comes by way of asking. Salvation begins in a town nobody watched, carried by an errand rather than a decree, because He works inside the ordinary map of human life where a person may be asked and may freely answer.
The counting of months ties this to a mercy already underway in an older woman's house. Grace moves in sequence, one gift preparing the ground for the next, so the greatest thing arrives among people already learning to trust God's word. Obscurity is no obstacle to Him; more often it is His chosen starting place.

MANIFESTATION
Gabriel comes as the message that starts a conception, the announcement of a new state about to take root in someone who does not yet grasp what is happening. Every soul is this virgin, sired unknowingly by imagination, receiving its child without blame and often without noticing the moment it was given. The messenger arrives from within, not from a figure in the sky.
Nazareth, a plain and unremarkable town, is the ordinary life where this begins, the last place anyone would expect a divine birth. Yet that is exactly where it starts. The word reaches the unsuspecting self, and a desire is quietly planted that will one day be born as fact. What feels like the most commonplace corner of your life is where a new self is first conceived.

ESOTERIC
The messenger sent from God is an angle of light, a photon carrying its message into the head from the primal light that is God itself. Gabriel is that angle, the ray that stirs the inner faculties and announces a new life about to form. God is the source light, and what is sent out from it is a particle of that same light, traveling into a settled state of consciousness to change it.
The city is a fixed condition of the mind, and the circuit of the brain is where the messenger arrives. Every conception of something higher begins this way, as light entering the head. An angel is not a winged being from the sky. It is a beam of light reaching the place in the brain where a new state can be conceived.
Gabriel: an angle of light, a photon sent from the primal light to stir the inner faculties God: the source light itself, out of which the messenger particle is sent Galilee: the circuit of the brain, where the light arrives to announce a new life City: a settled, fixed state of consciousness ready to receive the light
Protestant lens
What am I overlooking because it has not shown up anywhere worth watching?
Great things begin small and quiet, in the place nobody is watching. The tree that takes two arms to circle started as something you could have stepped on.
The teaching arrives in the kitchen and the woodshed, not in the grand hall. Where it lands is never the place the ambitious would have guessed.
The messenger brings nothing of his own and keeps none of it. He is a reed, hollow, and the music is somebody else's breath.
