Luke 1:30 Meaning The Angel Said to Her

The angel said to her, “Don’t be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

What does Luke 1:30 mean?

Fear not is the whole of the message, spoken to a mind the moment it grows quiet enough to hear it. What arrives is not word of a coming event but the ending of dread itself, for love makes its presence known only where fear has been laid down, and the two cannot share a single instant.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

Fear not is the whole of the message, spoken to a mind the moment it grows quiet enough to hear it. What arrives is not word of a coming event but the ending of dread itself, for love makes its presence known only where fear has been laid down, and the two cannot share a single instant.

A frightened mind believes it has been singled out for punishment, and this is the gentle undoing of that belief. To have found favour is not to have earned a reward but to remember that it was never in danger, that it has stood all along in a Love that looked on it without judgment. Nothing outside needed to change. Only the one who was afraid had to be told the truth, and in hearing it, grew still.

Angel: the messenger of love within the mind, the Voice that speaks for God and enters wherever fear has left an opening.

Mary is the pure receptive soul in a person, the deep feminine ground of consciousness prepared and made ready to conceive the higher self, and the messenger that speaks to her is the intuition, the inner voice of spirit announcing that the time of conception has come. Her name carries the sense of the sea, the great waters, the fluid depth of the psyche where the divine child is formed. The word fear not is the stilling of the lower nervous agitation that always trembles before a great inner change, because the awakening of the Christ consciousness feels, at first, like something overwhelming. To have found favour is to have reached the ripened state where the soul is at last fit to bear the higher awareness within the body.

When the receptive depth of a person is finally still and ready, the inner voice confirms it, and the fear that guards the threshold is quieted so the new consciousness can begin to form.

Live Luke 1:30 today

  1. When you wake up and the dread arrives before you are even out of bed, put a hand on your chest and tell yourself plainly that you are not in trouble right now.
  2. If someone you love seems braced for your criticism, say something warm first, before anything else. Give them one moment where they know they are safe with you.
  3. Before you open the message you have been avoiding, breathe once and remember that nothing in it can take away who you are.

What would today feel like if I were not in trouble?

Buddhism

Fear and loving-kindness cannot occupy the same moment of mind. This is not willpower, it is simply that one dissolves as the other arrives.

Tao Te Ching 16

Return to stillness and you stop being at war with what happens. Nothing in the situation changed, the one looking at it did.
