Luke 10:2 Meaning Then He Said to Them

Then he said to them, “The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest.

What does Luke 10:2 mean?

Everywhere a mind looks there are others ready to be seen as innocent, ripe for release, and this is the great harvest. What is scarce is not the opportunity but the willingness to do the reaping, for few are ready to lay down judgment and gather their brothers home.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

Everywhere a mind looks there are others ready to be seen as innocent, ripe for release, and this is the great harvest. What is scarce is not the opportunity but the willingness to do the reaping, for few are ready to lay down judgment and gather their brothers home. The work is not to change anyone but to see them freed of the guilt the mind had laid on them.

To pray the Lord of the harvest is to ask love itself to make one willing, since the willingness is not the ego's to supply. A mind that feels too small for so vast a task need only offer its readiness, and it will find itself sent, made a laborer by the very love it asked to send it.

Harvest: the countless brothers waiting to be seen as innocent, the ripeness of every mind for release Labourers: minds made willing to forgive, the few who lay down judgment and gather others into peace Lord of the harvest: the voice for love that alone can make a mind willing and send it forth to heal

Live Luke 10:2 today

  1. Scroll your contacts until a name stirs something, then stop and let yourself see that person without the usual tally of what they did. Send them a short message that carries nothing but warmth.
  2. With whoever is nearest you today, a partner, a coworker, a kid, decide once, before you speak, that they are not guilty of anything right now. Then have the conversation from there.
  3. When a group chat or a work thread starts picking someone apart, do not join and do not lecture. Say one true, kind thing about them and let that be your contribution.

If willingness is all that is asked of me, what have I been waiting to feel first?

What you are looking for has already come looking for you, and the only thing asked is that you stop refusing. Say yes and you will find you have been sent.
