Luke 12:8 Meaning I Tell You

I tell you, everyone who confesses me before men, the Son of Man will also confess before the angels of God;

What does Luke 12:8 mean?

To confess love openly, before the very witnesses the ego most fears, is simply to choose which teacher a mind will let itself be seen with. What is owned in the world of appearances is owned in truth, for the mind that lets love speak through it in plain sight is at once acknowledged by love, recognized before all that is holy as belonging where it always did.

Christian Psychology

To confess love openly, before the very witnesses the ego most fears, is simply to choose which teacher a mind will let itself be seen with. What is owned in the world of appearances is owned in truth, for the mind that lets love speak through it in plain sight is at once acknowledged by love, recognized before all that is holy as belonging where it always did. Nothing is being tested here; a choosing is being answered.

When a mind stops hiding its allegiance to love and lets that allegiance be seen, it discovers that love has never for a moment failed to see it in return.

Men: the crowd of appearances before which a mind is tempted to conceal what it truly values, the public field where allegiance is either owned or hidden. Son of man: the awakened self that speaks for love, the part of the mind that acknowledges what a mind has chosen and answers it in kind. Angels of God: the holy witnesses of truth, the changeless company before whom the mind is recognized as it always was.

Live Luke 12:8 today

  1. Say one kind or true thing today that you would normally keep to yourself for fear of seeming soft. Letting it be seen is the whole thing.
  2. When a conversation turns to mocking someone and you quietly disagree, say so out loud. Owning what you actually value in front of people changes what you are.
  3. In a meeting where the easy move is to go along with something you think is wrong, name your view simply and without heat. You will not regret having been seen on the right side of it.

What do I actually care about that I keep hiding so people will not see it?

Do not just hold your philosophy privately. Let it be visible in how you act, and let the crowd think what it will.

Bhagavad Gita 12

The one who turns toward love openly is turned toward in return. The devotion is answered the moment it is offered.

Sufism · Rumi

Say plainly what you love. The silence you keep to protect yourself costs you the very thing you were protecting.
