To ask what the kingdom is like is already to turn inward, away from the noise of thought and toward the aliveness that is here before any answer forms. It cannot be shown to you as an object, because it is not a thing among things.
From the Ego v. Being reading below.
The same verse, read by one tradition.

EGO & BEING
To ask what the kingdom is like is already to turn inward, away from the noise of thought and toward the aliveness that is here before any answer forms. It cannot be shown to you as an object, because it is not a thing among things. It is the awake space in which all things appear.
Why reach for a comparison at all? Because the deepest reality can only be pointed to, never seized by the mind. When you grow still and sense the presence that you already are, you touch what no description could hold. The kingdom is that presence, and it is here now.
Ego v. Being lens
What is already here, before I find a word for it?
A student asked about the fundamental truth, and the teacher said the cypress tree in the courtyard. The answer is not an idea, it is what is already here when thought stops reaching.
That which sees cannot be seen, the way the eye cannot look at itself. You are the awake space, not an object inside it.
The Tao that can be named is not the Tao. Every word is a finger pointing, never the thing it points at.
