Luke 18:27 Meaning But He Said

But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

What does Luke 18:27 mean?

What the separated mind cannot do for itself is exactly what love does the moment the mind stops trying to do it alone. Every impossibility here belongs to the ego's calculations, which can never solve the problem of its own guilt because guilt is its foundation.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

What the separated mind cannot do for itself is exactly what love does the moment the mind stops trying to do it alone. Every impossibility here belongs to the ego's calculations, which can never solve the problem of its own guilt because guilt is its foundation. Left to its own devices the mind is genuinely stuck, forever unable to earn what it seeks by effort or merit.

But the release was never the mind's task to accomplish; it was only its task to accept. What looked impossible was impossible only to the will that insisted on going alone. The correction comes not from doing more but from the shift to a different teacher, and in that shift the closed door was never locked at all.

  1. When you hit the thing you have been circling for weeks, stop pushing for ten minutes. Put the phone face down, sit with it unsolved, and let the answer come to you instead of hunting it.
  2. Tell one person something you cannot fix on your own, out loud, with no plan attached. Not asking for advice, just stopping the pretense that you have it handled.
  3. In the meeting where you are supposed to have the answer, say "I do not know yet" instead of filling the silence. The room usually softens, and so does your chest.

What am I still trying to carry alone, as if asking for help were the real failure?

Tao Te Ching 48

The way forward is not adding more effort but letting go, until things get done by not forcing them. What striving could never reach, yielding opens.

Zen

A student who grips the rope with both hands cannot be pulled up. The teacher says: let go, and you will find you were already on the ground.

Bhagavad Gita

Arjuna cannot think his way out of his own paralysis. The turn comes when he stops trying to be his own counsel and listens to the one beside him.
