Luke 19:5 · World English Bible
When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
Love does not wait to be earned before it comes to stay. It looks up and calls the hidden one by name, for the mind that has climbed away from itself, believing it must watch from a distance, is exactly the one love seeks to reach.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
Love does not wait to be earned before it comes to stay. It looks up and calls the hidden one by name, for the mind that has climbed away from itself, believing it must watch from a distance, is exactly the one love seeks to reach. To come down is to leave the perch of guilt and stand where a Guest can enter.
The house is the mind, and love asks to abide there today, not after some long penance is paid. There is no delay in the invitation, for there is no sin that needs first to be undone. A mind is called down simply so that love can dwell in it now.
Zacchaeus: the mind hidden away, watching from above out of unworthiness, the part that believes it must stay separate to stay safe. The tree: the elevated distance of guilt, the private lookout the ego builds to keep the self apart from love. The house: the mind itself, the inner dwelling where love asks to enter and remain.
Christian Psychology lens
Where am I keeping my distance because I think I need to be better first?
You do not have to be clean to be invited. Come as you are, the door was never conditional.
The guest is already at the gate while you are upstairs tidying. Come down. The tidying was the delay.
Water does not climb to prove itself worthy. It settles low, and that is exactly where it is useful and at home.
