Luke 22:16 Meaning For I Tell You

for I tell you, I will no longer by any means eat of it until it is fulfilled in God’s Kingdom.

What does Luke 22:16 mean?

The old observance is set aside because the mind is moving toward a fulfillment the ritual could only point to. What was eaten in the shadow of separation gives way to what is completed in the awareness of Heaven, and there is no returning to the lesser form once the greater truth is near.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

The old observance is set aside because the mind is moving toward a fulfillment the ritual could only point to. What was eaten in the shadow of separation gives way to what is completed in the awareness of Heaven, and there is no returning to the lesser form once the greater truth is near. The waiting is not a lack but a turning, the mind releasing the symbol for the thing itself.

The kingdom is not a place to be reached but the mind's own recognition of its wholeness. When that recognition comes, every partial sign is fulfilled at once, and the longing that reached toward it is answered.

EGO & BEING

Ego v. Being

There is a fullness toward which all things move, a completion spoken of as being fulfilled in the kingdom. The mind hears in this a waiting, a not yet, as though satisfaction must be held back until some far-off day.

Yet fulfillment is not an event in time. It is what every simple act, even the sharing of a meal, becomes when it is met with complete presence. Nothing outward is truly whole until awareness fills it from within. To eat, to drink, to live in that awakened stillness is itself the fulfillment, and it is available now rather than in some distant hour.

ESOTERIC

The eating spoken of is the taking in of experience through the outer, symbolic forms, the ritual meal of the lower observance. To stop eating of it until fulfillment is the moment awakening consciousness turns from the outward sign to the inner substance it always pointed toward. The Passover, the passing over of the lower self, is not finished at a table but completed inside a person when the higher state is reached.

The kingdom of God is that inner state, the realm of consciousness within where the true meal is eaten and the symbol dissolves into reality. Fulfillment means the outer form has done its work and is set aside because what it stood for has come to pass in the body and mind. What waits is not another supper but the inward arrival of the kingdom already declared to be within.

Live Luke 22:16 today

  1. Take one routine you do on autopilot today, coffee, the walk to the car, the same morning scroll, and do it like it is pointing somewhere.
  2. With one person, skip the usual script of how-are-you-fine and ask something you actually want the answer to.
  3. When you catch yourself going through the motions at work just to be seen doing them, pause and ask what the motions were originally for.
