Luke 23:5 Meaning But They Insisted

But they insisted, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee even to this place.”

What does Luke 23:5 mean?

When innocence is declared, fear does not quiet but grows fiercer, for nothing enrages the ego like the refusal to find it guilty. The accusers pressed harder, insisting the influence had spread everywhere, from the first place to the last.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

When innocence is declared, fear does not quiet but grows fiercer, for nothing enrages the ego like the refusal to find it guilty. The accusers pressed harder, insisting the influence had spread everywhere, from the first place to the last. This is fear's own testimony against itself: what it names as a contagion spreading through all the land is the awakening it cannot stop, the teaching of love moving through the mind faster than guilt can contain it.

The ego always mistakes the spread of truth for a threat and answers with more heat. The lesson is hidden in the very charge. That love could reach so far, from Galilee to here, is not the danger the accusers fear but the promise they cannot see, that no corner of the mind lies beyond its reach.

Jewry: the whole territory of the mind, the full field through which love's teaching moves and which fear claims is being stirred Galilee: the humble starting place, the overlooked corner where awakening quietly begins before it reaches the rest

  1. When a kind decision of yours gets pushback, don't escalate and don't abandon it. Hold it quietly and let the heat pass through the room without you adding to it.
  2. If someone gets louder because you refused to be angry with them, stay at the same volume. Your calm is not a tactic, it is just the only thing that actually helps.
  3. Under pressure in a meeting or a tense call, let the fiercest voice finish completely before you answer. The force in the room usually has nothing behind it.

What in you gets loudest right when it is about to lose?
