CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

Truth does not defend itself with words, and to a mind seeking only spectacle it offers silence. Many questions were poured out, curious and demanding, hoping to draw the teacher into argument or display. He answered nothing, and the silence was not refusal but perfect clarity. Where the questioner wants entertainment rather than healing, there is nothing love can say that fear would hear.

This silence is itself the miracle. It declines to make the ego's game real by playing it, and withholds the drama that guilt is starving for. When a mind asks only to be amused, the kindest and clearest response is the stillness that gives fear no foothold at all.

  1. Leave one comment unanswered today. The one where someone clearly wants a fight, not a conversation. Closing the app is a complete reply.
  2. When someone keeps asking questions that are really accusations, you can say "I don't think I can answer that in a way that would help" and mean it kindly.
  3. In a meeting where someone is performing at you rather than talking with you, let a long pause sit there. Pauses dissolve performances better than words do.

What argument are you still carrying that nobody actually needs you to win?

Tao Te Ching 56

The one who knows does not go on talking. Speech that tries to prove itself has already left what it was trying to say.

Zen

Asked a question meant only to trap, the master sometimes just sits. The silence answers more honestly than any clever reply could.
