Luke 24:3 Meaning They Entered in

They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body.

What does Luke 24:3 mean?

A mind that goes looking for love among the dead comes to the place where it expected a corpse and finds the space empty. The absence is the whole teaching, for what it sought could never be held in the tomb where it laid its fear.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

A mind that goes looking for love among the dead comes to the place where it expected a corpse and finds the space empty. The absence is the whole teaching, for what it sought could never be held in the tomb where it laid its fear.

The empty grave undoes the belief that the body is where a life is kept, and that death has the final word. Those who came to tend a body learn that there was no body to tend, that what they loved was never a thing that could be sealed in stone. The mind is left holding an emptiness that is really the beginning of sight.

Body: the belief that a life can be contained and killed, the thing the mind expects to find where love is not Tomb: the sealed place of fear where the mind lays what it believes has died, the enclosure it must enter to learn nothing was lost

Live Luke 24:3 today

  1. When you go back to a place expecting to feel what you used to feel there and it is simply empty, let the emptiness be information rather than failure. Something has moved on, including you.
  2. If someone you love is grieving, do not rush to fill the quiet with meaning. Sit in the empty part with them. That is the whole offer.
  3. When a plan you were sure of collapses and there is nothing where you expected something, resist filling the space immediately. The gap is where sight starts.

What am I still looking for in the place where I last put it down?

Weapons cannot cut it and fire cannot burn it. What you love in someone was never the part that can be put in the ground.

Zen

The student arrives at the answer and finds the room empty, and the emptiness turns out to be the teaching rather than the failure.

Tao Te Ching 11

The usefulness of a cup is the hollow part. What looks like nothing there is what holds everything.
