BUDDHISM
Nekkhamma: Renunciation
The clean letting-go of what one holds. He left all in a single motion, rising from the tax-table and its coins as a man stands up and walks away from a meal he has finished. Renunciation here is plain and quiet, a chair pushed back and left empty.
Cāga: Relinquishment
The open-handed release of possessions and place. Left all means the ledger, the profit, the whole familiar life set down at once and not glanced back at. The hand that lets go of the coin is free in the same instant the coin drops.
Saddhā: Confident trust
The settled confidence that moves the feet. Rose up shows trust already turned into action, no long weighing of the cost, the body answering before the mind can argue. A man leaps a stream only when something in him has already decided the far bank will hold.
Viriya: Energy
The rousing that turns intention into motion. Rose up is the whole self gathered and lifted, the sitting figure now standing and moving down the road. One decisive rising can carry a life across into something entirely new.
Magga: The path
The way entered by walking it. Followed him is the first step onto a road that only opens under the moving foot, direction chosen over the settled comfort left behind. The path begins the moment the old seat is abandoned for it.

SELF-HELP
The seconds between hearing something true and moving on it decide whether it becomes a life or a memory.
Standing up turns recognition into identity, because the body commits while the mind is still assembling reasons. Walking out empties the fallback, and a state with nothing to collapse back into keeps its shape. From there the new belief has to be lived, since the old life is no longer there to return to.
Wait an hour and the arithmetic arrives: the income, the position, the men who count on that table staying open. Each one is real, and each one is a fence the mind mistakes for the horizon. Hesitation costs more than an opportunity; it installs a habit, and produces a man who follows Jesus in his own estimation and never leaves the booth.
Buddhism lens
What is still sitting in the chair I already got up from?
The way forward is by subtraction, not addition. You arrive by setting things down, until nothing is left in the hands that has to be defended.
When the ship's captain calls, you leave the shells you gathered on the beach and board without arguing. Hesitation is just another thing to carry.
Arjuna's paralysis ends not with a better calculation but with rising and acting. The body standing up is itself the answer the mind could not reach.
