Luke 5:37 Meaning No One Puts New Wine Into Old
No one puts new wine into old wine skins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.

Luke 5:37 · World English Bible
No one puts new wine into old wine skins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.
Something alive cannot be poured into a structure made of yesterday. The mind is old by nature, a hardened collection of what has already happened, and any real experience entering it either ferments and tears it apart or is drained away into concepts.

AWARENESS
Something alive cannot be poured into a structure made of yesterday. The mind is old by nature, a hardened collection of what has already happened, and any real experience entering it either ferments and tears it apart or is drained away into concepts.
The seeker who wants truth added to his personality asks the impossible. The vessel itself has to be new: a fresh receptivity, unhardened by conclusions, willing to hold what it does not yet understand. That newness arrives in a moment of watching, when the old accumulation is set aside and something can be received directly.
Indian Guru lens
What am I so sure about that nothing new can get in beside it?
A student came full of what he knew, so the master kept pouring until the cup overflowed. Empty first, then there is room.
The usefulness of a cup is the hollow in it. What a vessel holds depends entirely on the space nobody filled.
The raft that carried you across is not meant to be carried on your back. Conclusions that once helped become the weight that stops you moving.
