Luke 8:46 Meaning But Jesus Said

But Jesus said, “Someone did touch me, for I perceived that power has gone out of me.”

What does Luke 8:46 mean?

Love does not withhold itself, nor does it heal by accident. When a mind reaches toward it in earnest, something passes between them, not a substance spent but a giving that both feel, because the meeting of minds is never one-sided.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

Love does not withhold itself, nor does it heal by accident. When a mind reaches toward it in earnest, something passes between them, not a substance spent but a giving that both feel, because the meeting of minds is never one-sided. What went out was not diminished; love loses nothing by giving, yet the giving is real and known.

The awakened mind is aware of every sincere turning toward it, for such a turning is answered before it is finished. Nothing genuine passes unseen by love, and the healing that flows is simply love recognizing itself in the one who reached, and completing the exchange the reaching began.

Live Luke 8:46 today

  1. When you give someone your attention today, give it fully for two minutes, no screen in your hand. You will find you have more afterward, not less.
  2. If someone reaches toward you sideways, a long text, a joke that is not really a joke, answer the reach and not just the words. They will know you caught it.
  3. In the meeting where you are stretched thin, choose one person to actually listen to. Giving your focus away on purpose costs less than guarding it all day.

Who reached toward me recently, and did I let them know it landed?

The one who gives to others ends up with more, not less. Pouring out does not empty the source.

Sufism · Rumi

The longing you feel for something is already its answer reaching back toward you. The call and the response were never two separate things.

Even a leaf or a sip of water, offered sincerely, is received. What makes the offering real is the heart behind it, not its size.
