Malachi 2:6 Meaning The Law of Truth Was
The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity.

Malachi 2:6 · World English Bible
The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity.
Sacca: Truth Sacca is truth taken as a vow, in speech and in seeing what is so. The law of truth living in his mouth means it was there before anyone came asking, the way water stands in a well before the bucket goes down.

BUDDHISM
Sacca: Truth Sacca is truth taken as a vow, in speech and in seeing what is so. The law of truth living in his mouth means it was there before anyone came asking, the way water stands in a well before the bucket goes down. Priests can recite the same sentences with a dry well behind them, and that is the charge being brought against the ones standing in front of Malachi now.
Sammā Vācā: Right Speech Right speech is the path factor governing what leaves the mouth. Unrighteousness was not found in his lips describes a search that came up empty, and the search runs over four things: lies, words that set people against each other, cutting words, and idle talk. A priest's lips get consulted the way a merchant's scale gets checked; a hair of dishonesty in the balance and every weight in the town is wrong.
Ajjava: Uprightness Ajjava is straightness of character, counted among the qualities a person perfects. Uprightness shows in the walking, while he is moving and nobody is watching, the way a road runs straight across open country with no traveler on it. Crooked teaching begins as a small lean, a ruling shaded toward whoever brought the larger offering, and the priesthood after Levi went on leaning that way.
Santi: Peace Santi is peace as a settled condition, the coals gone cold. Walking with God in peace is keeping an easy pace beside someone, carrying no argument, holding nothing back. Someone at odds with themselves cannot hold that pace for long; the quarrel inside sets the speed, and they end up dragging behind or running ahead of the one they claim to accompany.
Kalyāṇamitta: Admirable friend Kalyāṇamitta is the good companion whose company moves another toward the good. Many were turned away from iniquity because there was someone to fall in step with; a guide who knows where the river is shallow gets more people across than a sign posted on the bank. The turning is credited to his own walking, since people follow feet more readily than instructions.
Buddhism lens
Where am I shading things just slightly, and who would I be if I stopped?
The sage does not speak to persuade, and what is said carries because nothing crooked is hiding behind it. A straight road needs no one walking it to prove where it goes.
Let your speech be true without being ornamented, and let the life back it up. A person who has to argue for their own goodness has already lost the case.
Say little and do much, and receive everyone with a steady face. The teaching lands by how the teacher walks through the day, not by the size of the lesson.
