Mark 12:25 Meaning For When They Will Rise From

For when they will rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

What does Mark 12:25 mean?

To rise from the dead is to wake from the belief in separation, and in that waking the bonds the body formed are seen to belong only to the dream. Marriage here stands for the mind's habit of completing itself through another form, of seeking in a body the wholeness it fears it lacks.

To rise from the dead is to wake from the belief in separation, and in that waking the bonds the body formed are seen to belong only to the dream. Marriage here stands for the mind's habit of completing itself through another form, of seeking in a body the wholeness it fears it lacks. The awakened mind no longer joins this way, because it has ceased to believe anything was ever missing.

To be as the angels is simply to know oneself as spirit, already whole, needing no other to be complete. What looked like loss is only the falling away of a lack that was never true, leaving the mind joined to all in love and wanting nothing.

Angels: the mind awakened to itself as spirit, whole and joined in love, needing no body to be complete Heaven: the state of remembered oneness, the awareness in which nothing is lacking and nothing need be sought

Live Mark 12:25 today

  1. Spend twenty minutes today alone with no screen, no music, no podcast. Not to achieve stillness, just to find out that you are fine without anything filling the gap.
  2. The next time you want someone to text you back, sit with the waiting instead of checking. Then reach out to them from wanting to, not from needing to be answered.
  3. When a group chat or a work thread makes you feel left out or behind, say to yourself that nothing is actually missing from you right now, then go back in without the hunger.

What are you hoping someone else will supply that you may already have?

Buddhism · the second noble truth

Suffering is held in place by thirst, the reaching for one more thing to make us whole. When the thirst is seen through, the chase ends and nothing of love is lost with it.

Tao Te Ching 33

Whoever knows they have enough is already rich. The one who keeps reaching for completion keeps proving to themselves that they lack it.

Hinduism · Bhagavad Gita

The self is not born and does not die; it only seems to put on and set down forms. What you thought you needed to complete you was always a shape, never the substance.
