Mark 12:27 Meaning He Is Not the God

He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are therefore badly mistaken.

What does Mark 12:27 mean?

To argue over the dead is to argue over what was never there. A mind that pictures endings and a self that stops has taught itself that separation is real, and from that one error every fear descends.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

To argue over the dead is to argue over what was never there. A mind that pictures endings and a self that stops has taught itself that separation is real, and from that one error every fear descends. Love does not preside over what fear invented; it holds only what is alive.

The error is not a sin to punish but a confusion to undo. A mind steeped in death has chosen the wrong teacher and called its shadows facts. Choose again, and the question of the dead dissolves, because life is the only thing that was ever true of it.

ESOTERIC

Esoteric

The divine principle does not belong to what is inert and lifeless but to living awareness, and to look for it among dead things is the whole of the error. Those who hunt for God in a buried past, in stone and dead letter and men long gone, search where it is not, because the living power moves only in what is awake and breathing now. Within a person that same principle is not a memory of something once alive but the current animating the body at this moment. To treat the source of life as a matter of the dead is to miss it entirely, since it is found only where life itself is stirring.

Live Mark 12:27 today

  1. Catch one thought today that begins with it is over, I am too late, that is finished. Write it down and ask honestly whether it is a fact or a mood.
  2. With someone who is in a heavy stretch, do not try to fix it or find the bright side. Just stay in the conversation longer than is comfortable and let them be alive in front of you.
  3. When a deadline or a bad number makes it feel like everything is collapsing, name three things that are still completely intact. Your lungs. The afternoon. The person next to you.

What have you already buried in your mind that is still breathing?

The one who is not busy defending their life has nowhere for death to get a grip. Fear is the handle we hand to it.

Stoicism · Marcus Aurelius

Most of what torments you lives in your opinion about the thing, not in the thing. Change the judgment and the terror goes with it.

Zen · Bankei

You were not given an endless mind and then handed a dying one. Live from the unborn, and the question of ending stops asking itself.
