Mark 13:6 Meaning For Many Will Come in My Name

For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and will lead many astray.

What does Mark 13:6 mean?

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

The false Christ is not a stranger arriving from elsewhere but the ego borrowing the language of love to keep its rule. It speaks in holy words while teaching separation, promising rescue on the condition that you still fear, still judge, still see an enemy. Anything that wears love's name yet asks you to attack has told you what it is.

The test is never the claim but the direction it points the mind. Love leads always toward innocence and away from fear; whatever leads the other way, however sacred it sounds, is the old deception. A mind that keeps this measure cannot be misled, because it judges the fruit and not the name.

  1. Unfollow one account that leaves you feeling morally superior and a little afraid. That combination is the tell, no matter how high minded the words are.
  2. When a friend shares something that casts a whole group of people as the problem, ask gently where it leads. Anything that ends in contempt has already shown you what it is.
  3. When you are the one about to say something cutting while convinced you are in the right, stop there. Being right is the most popular disguise for wanting to wound.

When something you believe makes you feel justified in attacking someone, what is it really asking of you?

Do not accept a teaching because of who says it or how holy it sounds. Watch where it leads: toward less greed and less hatred, or toward more.

When virtue becomes a loud claim, something real has already been lost. The genuine thing does not need to announce itself.
