Mark 14:24 Meaning He Said to Them

He said to them, “This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many.

What does Mark 14:24 mean?

The blood of the new agreement is no payment demanded by an angry God but the pouring out of love without condition, given for many because love excludes no one. The old belief held that guilt must be paid for in suffering; the new understanding is that love simply gives itself away and asks nothing back.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

The blood of the new agreement is no payment demanded by an angry God but the pouring out of love without condition, given for many because love excludes no one. The old belief held that guilt must be paid for in suffering; the new understanding is that love simply gives itself away and asks nothing back. What is shed is not life destroyed but love released, flowing outward to all it can reach.

This is the covenant that replaces fear's bargain. Where the mind once thought it must buy its safety through sacrifice, it learns that safety was never for sale, that it is held already in a love given freely to everyone. The many are not saved by a price but by the recognition that no price was ever owed.

Blood: love poured out without condition, not a payment for guilt but the sign of a gift held back from no one New testament: the changed understanding that replaces fear's bargain, the covenant in which love is given freely and nothing is owed

Live Mark 14:24 today

  1. Do something kind today for someone who cannot pay you back and will not even know it was you. Let that be the whole of it.
  2. Forgive one small outstanding debt, the apology you are owed, the favor never returned, the text never answered, and stop keeping the tally. Just quietly close the account.
  3. When you feel the urge to earn your way back into someone's good opinion, drop the effort and simply be decent to them. You were never behind, and nothing was owed.

What am I still trying to pay for, when nothing was ever being charged?
