Jesus said to him, “Most certainly I tell you, that you today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”

Mark 14:30 · World English Bible
Jesus said to him, “Most certainly I tell you, that you today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”
Love answers the mind's confident vow by telling it gently how soon it will falter, that before the night is out it will deny three times the very truth it swore to defend. This is no sentence passed but a mercy offered in advance, for the mind that is told of its coming failure need not be destroyed by it.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
Love answers the mind's confident vow by telling it gently how soon it will falter, that before the night is out it will deny three times the very truth it swore to defend. This is no sentence passed but a mercy offered in advance, for the mind that is told of its coming failure need not be destroyed by it. To hear the denial foretold is to be spared the crushing surprise of it.
The cock that crows is the moment of waking, when the mind sees plainly what it has done and can pretend no longer. Even that seeing is held within love, for the failure was known and forgiven before it came. The self is not condemned by its denial but awakened by it, and drawn back to the love it thought it had lost.
Cock: the sound of waking, the moment the mind sees clearly what it has done and can pretend no longer Night: the hour of fear in which the mind loses sight of love and denies the truth it meant to keep
Christian Psychology lens
Can I know I will fail at something today and still walk into it kindly?
Begin each day knowing you will meet difficulty and will not always meet it well. The failure foreseen is the failure that cannot crush you.
Falling down is not the problem. Thinking you were supposed to be someone who does not fall is the problem.
The wound is where the light enters. What breaks the proud picture of yourself is what finally lets you be known as you are.
