Mark 14:49 Meaning I Was Daily with You

I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me. But this is so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled.

What does Mark 14:49 mean?

The temple is a person's own being, and the one teaching daily within it is his own imagination, present every hour yet unrecognized. It speaks in every thought and every inner conversation, and still a person does not lay hold of it, does not take it for what it is.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The temple is a person's own being, and the one teaching daily within it is his own imagination, present every hour yet unrecognized. It speaks in every thought and every inner conversation, and still a person does not lay hold of it, does not take it for what it is. He looks for God somewhere else while the only creative power he owns goes on quietly working inside him, unclaimed.

The scripture must be fulfilled means these events are not old history. They happen now. The seizing, the betrayal, the whole drama unfold inside a person as he wakes to what he has been carrying. The imagination overlooked in the temple is the presence a person has spent his life seeking outside himself.

Live Mark 14:49 today

  1. During your commute, instead of filling the time, listen to the running conversation already going on in your head and take it seriously as something shaping your life.
  2. With someone you see every day, your partner, a coworker, a parent, look at them once today as though you had not already decided who they are. What is always there is the easiest thing to walk past.
  3. In a tense hour, catch the inner voice rehearsing the worst version of what is about to happen, and let it finish a different sentence. It has been teaching you all along, and you can change the lesson.

What has been with you every day that you have never once claimed?
