Mark 8:11 Meaning The Pharisees Came Out and Began
The Pharisees came out and began to question him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, and testing him.

Mark 8:11 · World English Bible
The Pharisees came out and began to question him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, and testing him.
The demand for a sign is fear disguised as inquiry, for a mind that already refuses to believe will not be convinced by any proof, only supplied with one more thing to dispute. Those who come questioning are the part of the mind that wants certainty from outside because it will not look within, and their asking is not openness but a way of staying closed.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
The demand for a sign is fear disguised as inquiry, for a mind that already refuses to believe will not be convinced by any proof, only supplied with one more thing to dispute. Those who come questioning are the part of the mind that wants certainty from outside because it will not look within, and their asking is not openness but a way of staying closed.
Love offers no spectacle to such a demand, because the shift it works is a change of perception, not a display for the eyes. A mind set on being persuaded from without cannot receive what can only be recognized within, and no marvel in the sky would reach it, since the door it has locked opens only from its own side.
Pharisees: the questioning part of the mind that demands proof from outside because it refuses to look within, seeking certainty everywhere but where it could be found. Heaven: the realm of love from which a sign is wrongly demanded, treated as a source of spectacle by a mind that will not receive it as truth.
Christian Psychology lens
What am I asking to be proven when I already know what I would rather not admit?
You can describe water all day and no one's thirst ends. Nobody is convinced of wet by argument, only by drinking.
The way cannot be handed over in words. Those who argue about it have not looked, and those who have looked do not argue.
A closed hand cannot be filled, no matter how much is offered. The opening has to happen from the inside.
