Matthew 11:11 Meaning Most Certainly I Tell You

Most certainly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.

What does Matthew 11:11 mean?

There is a greatness the world can produce and a greatness only the awakened mind can know, and the two are not measured on the same scale. The best the ego offers still stands within the dream, preparing and pointing but not yet home, while the smallest thought that has entered the kingdom has crossed from illusion into truth.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

There is a greatness the world can produce and a greatness only the awakened mind can know, and the two are not measured on the same scale. The best the ego offers still stands within the dream, preparing and pointing but not yet home, while the smallest thought that has entered the kingdom has crossed from illusion into truth. Rank inside the dream, however high, cannot compare with having woken from it.

A mind that grasps this stops striving to be the greatest figure in a story that is passing. It sees that the least place in reality outweighs the first place in a dream, because being awake is worth more than any honor sleep can give.

John the Baptist: the highest achievement possible within the dream, the herald who prepares the way yet still stands outside the waking. The kingdom of heaven: the state of the mind that has remembered its oneness with God, the reality beyond the dream where even the least is whole.

EGO & BEING

Ego v. Being

There is a greatness that belongs to the world of form, the greatness of those born of women, measured in deeds and words. By that measure none rose above John. Yet all of it unfolds within the dream of the egoic mind.

The kingdom of heaven is a different order, the dimension of awakened consciousness. The most ordinary person who lives from stillness rather than thought touches something no worldly achievement can reach. That is why the humblest person who is truly present has entered something greater than the most celebrated life still ruled by thought.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

John stands for the highest reach of the outer man, the one who prepares and points and does everything right by effort and discipline. Born of women means shaped by circumstance, by the world of cause and effect. In that whole order nothing rises higher than he. Yet the smallest movement made from the inner kingdom outranks his greatest labor.

The kingdom is the domain of assumption, where things are accepted as done before they appear. To dwell there even faintly is to work at the level of the cause, while the outer man toils among the effects. The reformer improves the reflection. The one who changes his own consciousness changes what is reflected. Inner acceptance outranks outer striving, always.

  1. Open the app where you keep score, followers, steps, inbox count, and ask what you would be doing right now if the number did not exist. Then go do a small piece of it.
  2. Tell someone about a part of your life that will never impress anyone, the slow quiet part. Being known beats being ranked.
  3. When a promotion or a title goes to someone else, let yourself be glad for them for thirty seconds before the comparison starts. The ladder is shorter than it looks from the middle of it.

If no one were keeping score, what would I stop doing tomorrow?

A man dreamed he was a butterfly and woke unsure which was which. The question of who ranked highest in the dream loses its grip the moment the eyes open.

Conquering a thousand armies is less than conquering yourself. One is a prize inside the game, the other is stepping out of it.
