Matthew 11:19 Meaning The Son of Man Came Eating

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.

What does Matthew 11:19 mean?

The ego judges love by appearances and always finds a charge to bring, because a mind committed to seeing guilt will read guilt into whatever it looks upon. Love came without separation, sharing the table of those the world condemned, and the world answered by naming the very openness a fault.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

The ego judges love by appearances and always finds a charge to bring, because a mind committed to seeing guilt will read guilt into whatever it looks upon. Love came without separation, sharing the table of those the world condemned, and the world answered by naming the very openness a fault. This is projection at work: the accusers saw in another the sinfulness they carried, and mistook a lack of judgment for something to be judged.

A mind can tell the two teachers apart not by the labels fear pins on them but by what they bring forth. Love is known by its effects, by the peace and healing that follow it, and no accusation survives the evidence of what it actually gives.

Publicans and sinners: the ones the world casts out as guilty, the brothers a loving mind sits beside without condemnation. Children of wisdom: the effects that reveal love's truth, the peace and healing by which a mind knows which teacher it has followed.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The Son of man is the I of you moving freely among all states, eating and drinking meaning it enters and takes on any condition without holding itself apart. The onlookers, judging by the outer look, call this appetite and low company, because they read a person by the states he passes through rather than by the awareness passing through them. They see a man consorting with publicans and sinners and name him by the company, missing that he is simply free to occupy any state and leave it.

Wisdom is justified of her children, which is to say the proof of a way of imagining is the life it produces, not the appearance it wears along the way. The children are the results, the harvest that vindicates the seed. So the reading is not, judge the state by how it looks, but judge it by what it brings forth. What your imagining is worth shows in what it grows into.

ESOTERIC

Esoteric

The Son of man is the awakened higher self living fully in the body, taking food and drink, moving among the lowest faculties without recoil, and the crowd's mockery is the lower mind's failure to read a spiritual state through fleshly eyes. Eating and drinking, befriending publicans and sinners, is the higher self entering every level of the person, even the base appetites, to redeem them from inside rather than fleeing them. Wisdom justified of her children means the inner knowing is proven true by what it produces within a person, not by outward reputation.

When the higher self engages the whole of a person's nature instead of holding aloof, the fruit of that engagement vindicates it, however the surface mind may judge.

  1. Before you post the opinion about someone you have never met, ask what you actually know and what you only inferred from a clip. Most verdicts are made out of three seconds of footage.
  2. Have coffee or lunch with the person your circle has quietly written off. Sitting beside someone is a different act from discussing them.
  3. When a coworker's choice looks careless to you, look at the results of it over a month instead of the vibe of it today. Fruit takes longer to show up than a first impression.

True words can sound plain and unimpressive, and showy words are often empty. Judge by what a thing produces, not by how it presents.

What offends you in another is often your own judgment looking back at you. The fault you are quickest to name is worth checking at home first.
