MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The sower is you, and the seed is the state you assume and drop into the deep of yourself. Going forth to sow is the plain act of impressing a desire, felt as already so, into the receptive ground within. That ground is the subconscious, the source from which all outer things are drawn, and it takes whatever is planted in it without argument.

What follows in the parable is the four soils, the four ways people receive this truth about their own awakening. Some let it be snatched away by unbelief, some have no depth and lose it when feeling fades, some let the cares and ambitions of the world choke it, and some hold it until it bears. Every scene you play begins as a seed sown in feeling. The harvest you meet later grew from the state you carried, whether you noticed the sowing or not. Nothing appears in your life that was not first planted within.

ESOTERIC

Esoteric

The sower is the higher self casting the seed of awakened thought into the ground of a person's own nature. Speaking in parables is the whole method laid bare: truth is planted in coded images so that it lies hidden until the mind is ready to open it, the same way a seed carries its life sealed inside a husk until the soil receives it. Nothing is given plainly, because the growth must happen within and cannot be handed over ready-made.

The going forth is the movement of spirit outward into the field of the self to plant what will later rise. The whole drama of the seed and the soil is a picture of how the living word takes root in a person, quietly, under cover, waiting on the condition of the ground to bring it to light.

The sower: the higher self scattering the seed of awakened thought into a person's own nature The seed: the living word carried sealed in an image, its truth hidden in a husk until the mind opens it Parables: the coded manner in which truth is planted, veiled in images so it grows within rather than being handed over

  1. Before you unlock your phone in the morning, sit still for one minute and feel one ordinary good thing as already settled, the call that went well, the bill paid, the ease in your chest. Then open the phone and let the day run.
  2. In your next conversation, hold the person the way you would want them to turn out, not the way the last argument left them. Speak to who you are planting, not to the record.
  3. When a message lands badly and your stomach drops, do not answer from that drop. Stand up, get water, and come back to it only once the picture in your head is of the thing resolved.

What have I been quietly planting all week without meaning to?

Dhammapada

The mind leads everything. Act from a clear mind and ease follows you like a shadow; act from a clouded one and trouble follows the same way.

Bhagavad Gita

Whatever a person steadily holds in mind at the center of himself, that is what he moves toward and finally becomes.
