Matthew 13:43 Meaning Then the Righteous Will Shine Like

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

What does Matthew 13:43 mean?

The sun does not try to shine. It gives light because that is what it is, without effort or wanting to be seen.

Ego v. Being

The sun does not try to shine. It gives light because that is what it is, without effort or wanting to be seen. When a person stops living from the anxious little self and settles into the awareness underneath, that same effortless light comes through them. Nothing is added. What was always there simply stops being covered.

Most people hear these promises the way they hear traffic, as background noise the mind files away. To have ears is to grow quiet enough that the words reach the still space in you. In that stillness, the shining is already beginning.

Live Matthew 13:43 today

  1. Sit somewhere quiet for two minutes without your phone and let the mental chatter settle a little. You are not trying to produce anything. You are letting what is already there come through.
  2. Spend one conversation today without trying to be impressive. Drop the good line you were saving. People relax around someone who is not performing, and you will feel it in the room.
  3. In a meeting or a tense call, when you feel the pull to defend yourself, stay quiet for a beat and let yourself be plain. The urge to shine usually dims the light. Dropping it lets it through.

Where are you working hard to seem like something you could simply let yourself be?

The way does nothing, and yet nothing is left undone. What is natural accomplishes itself without straining toward a result.

Zen

The moon does not intend to be reflected, and the water does not intend to receive it. When the water is still, the moon simply appears.
