Matthew 18:12 Meaning What Do You Think

What do you think? If a man has one hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine, go to the mountains, and seek that which has gone astray?

What does Matthew 18:12 mean?

Wholeness will not consent to overlook a single part of itself. The mind that seems to wander off has not been written off as a loss; the whole of what it belongs to turns its full attention there, as though completeness could not rest while one fragment believes it stands outside.

Wholeness will not consent to overlook a single part of itself. The mind that seems to wander off has not been written off as a loss; the whole of what it belongs to turns its full attention there, as though completeness could not rest while one fragment believes it stands outside. This is how love regards the Son of God: not as a crowd where a few may be spared, but as one being in whom no piece can be surrendered.

The search into the mountains is love following the mind wherever fear has led it. It does not wait for the strayed one to find its way back. It goes, because a Creator does not count His creation complete while any part of it dreams it is alone.

Hundred sheep: the wholeness of the Son of God, the one Sonship of which no part can be lost One gone astray: the fragment of mind that believes it has wandered into separation Mountains: the far reaches of the dream where fear has led the mind, the high places love is willing to climb to reach it

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The shepherd is your own awareness of being, and the sheep are your states of consciousness. Ninety-nine can be safely left because they are already assumed and settled; the one that strays is the state you long for and have not yet occupied. Awareness turns its whole attention to that single missing state and climbs the high place of the mind to reach it.

The search is not anxious wandering. It is attention fixing itself on the one thing wanted until that thing is held. What you steadily seek in imagination is drawn back to you, because a state pursued with a single mind cannot stay lost. The Father leaves the crowd of what he already is and goes after the one thing he chooses to become, and by holding it he brings it home.

  1. Think of the person you quietly gave up on and send them one plain message with no agenda in it. Reaching out first is the whole thing.
  2. When someone in your group chat goes silent after a hard week, go to them directly instead of waiting for them to resurface. Waiting is comfortable and it rarely works.
  3. At work, when a project needs saving and one person is clearly drowning, go where they are rather than asking them to catch up to everyone else.

Who am I waiting on, when I could be the one who goes?
