AWARENESS

Indian Guru

The center belongs to whoever has not yet built one, which is why a child is set down among grown men busy ranking themselves. A child is present without a project, playing wholly, crying wholly, and forgetting it wholly a moment later.

Becoming a child again does not mean going backward into ignorance. The knowledge stays and the clinging to it drops. A man who has lived through everything and stopped collecting it into an identity has the same clear eyes, and this second childhood was standing in the middle of the room while they went on calculating their positions.

Live Matthew 18:2 today

  1. Do one thing today with your whole attention and no second screen, eating lunch, washing dishes, walking to the car. Be entirely in it, then let it go completely when it ends.
  2. Ask someone a question you genuinely do not know the answer to, and resist adding what you already know. Let them teach you something small.
  3. In a meeting where everyone is quietly ranking themselves, step out of the ranking. Say what you actually think with no eye on how it positions you.

What could you enjoy today if you were not keeping track of how you looked doing it?

The beginner's mind holds all possibilities. The expert's mind holds mostly the expert.
