Matthew 21:43 Meaning Therefore I Tell You

Therefore I tell you, God’s Kingdom will be taken away from you, and will be given to a nation producing its fruit.

What does Matthew 21:43 mean?

The kingdom is not something you can own by belonging to the right group or holding the right belief. It is a living reality, and it can be taken from you the moment it becomes only a concept in your head, a thing you possess rather than a thing you are.

Ego v. Being

The kingdom is not something you can own by belonging to the right group or holding the right belief. It is a living reality, and it can be taken from you the moment it becomes only a concept in your head, a thing you possess rather than a thing you are.

What matters are the fruits: presence made visible, the peace and clarity and right action that flow from a mind at rest in the present. Where there are no fruits, the kingdom is not there, whatever is claimed. It passes to whoever actually lives with this presence, and never stays with a group that merely inherited the word.

Live Matthew 21:43 today

  1. Pick one belief you hold about how to live and ask honestly whether anyone around you could tell from your week. Change one small thing so they could.
  2. Instead of sending someone an article or a quote today, do the thing the quote is about, for them, quietly.
  3. When you want to defend what your group gets right, stay quiet and do something useful instead. Let the doing be the whole argument.

What do you believe that your life has not caught up to yet?
