Matthew 24:11 Meaning Many False Prophets Will Arise

Many false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray.

What does Matthew 24:11 mean?

Within a person the false prophets are the voices of the lower mind that speak with the tone of truth while pointing away from the center. They rise, meaning they push up into awareness and take the seat of authority, dressed as insight but rooted in appetite and fear.

Within a person the false prophets are the voices of the lower mind that speak with the tone of truth while pointing away from the center. They rise, meaning they push up into awareness and take the seat of authority, dressed as insight but rooted in appetite and fear. Many are deceived because these inner voices are convincing; they sound like guidance, they promise safety and reward, and they draw the attention outward toward the world instead of inward toward the still knowing. A false prophet is any thought that claims to foretell your good while feeding the flesh.

The deception is not that they lie outright but that they mimic the true inner voice closely enough to be followed. The many who are led astray are the many faculties of a single person, each pulled after a plausible impulse that speaks as if it were the higher self.

Live Matthew 24:11 today

  1. The next time a thought arrives sounding like total certainty, you must buy it, you must send that message, you must quit today, wait one hour before acting. Real guidance survives an hour. Pressure usually does not.
  2. When a friend or a video or a podcast tells you exactly what you were already hoping to hear, say it out loud to someone you trust and watch how it sounds in the open air.
  3. In a meeting or an argument, pay attention to the voice in you that wants to win rather than to get it right. That is the one wearing a costume.

Which voice in my head sounds the most sure of itself, and have I ever once questioned it?

If you meet a Buddha on the road, kill him. Any voice that arrives wearing the robes of authority deserves a long, hard look before you follow it.

Desire dresses itself as good counsel. It speaks in a reasonable tone and leads the mind away from what it already knows.

Test every impression before you agree with it. Most of the trouble in a life comes from believing a thought simply because it showed up sounding certain.
