Matthew 25:40 Meaning The King Will Answer Them
The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

Matthew 25:40 · World English Bible
The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
There is no least brother, for the mind that would rank one soul below another has already forgotten that all are one. What is done to the one thought least is done to the whole, because separation is the illusion and union is the fact beneath it.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
There is no least brother, for the mind that would rank one soul below another has already forgotten that all are one. What is done to the one thought least is done to the whole, because separation is the illusion and union is the fact beneath it. To love the overlooked is to love the Self, since there is only one Self wearing countless faces.
A mind that helps the smallest and most forgotten is not performing a charity toward a stranger. It is answering itself. The face it thought least was its own face all along, and the moment it treats that face with love, it remembers that no one was ever separate enough to be counted as more or less.
King: the loving Self within that recognizes itself in every brother Least of these: the parts of the one mind judged as small or unworthy, in whom the whole is nonetheless present Brethren: the seemingly separate selves that are, beneath appearance, a single mind

EGO & BEING
You pass the man on the corner and something sorts him instantly: less than, other, not my concern. This happens below thought, a reflex of the mind that survives by dividing the world into important and unimportant, me and not me. In that small dismissal you feel, if you are honest, a faint contraction, the subtle loneliness of a self that has walled itself off from everyone it judges.
When you meet another person with real presence, though, something quiet and astonishing occurs: the sense of separation thins. Behind his face and behind yours is the same aliveness, the same awareness looking out. To honor the one the world calls least is to recognize that consciousness in him, and in recognizing it there you awaken it in yourself. This is why what you do to the least you do to the deepest thing. There are not many beings looking out through many eyes. There is one life, briefly wearing all these faces, and every genuine kindness is that life recognizing itself.

MANIFESTATION
The King is your own imagination, and what you do to the least of these you do to it, because every person you meet is that same power wearing another face. To lift someone in your mind, to hear him as already the man he longs to be, is to serve the one presence living in all of them. The service is done within, in the inner conversation you hold about him, and that is where it registers.
Here the least of these is anyone, and the doing is imaginative, not merely outward help. When you imagine good for another and dwell in it as done, the good comes to pass for him and the state also settles into you. You cannot bless another in imagination without wearing the blessing yourself. What you grant to others inwardly is granted, in the same act, to your own life.

PSYCHOANALYSIS
The people the world casts out, the hungry, the prisoner, the stranger, are also the parts of ourselves we cannot bear to face. Yet the true center of a person, where the image of God lives, is not found in what we admire. It hides in what we have rejected.
This is why serving the least changes the one who serves. A man who shows mercy to a beggar is quietly making peace with the poor, shamed figure buried inside himself. Caring for the least reaches God, because God chose to live in the lowest, both in the stranger before you and in the rejected part of yourself.
Christian Psychology lens
Who did you rank as less important today without ever saying it out loud?
The one with steady sight sees the same self in a scholar, a laborer, and a stray dog. The ranking was always in the eye, never in the beings.
The sage leaves no one behind and nothing discarded, because what the world throws away is still part of the whole.
The divine is not in the temple or the mountain. Look for it in the face of the person doing the work no one thanks them for.
