ESOTERIC
The council condemning the accused is the religious mind in a person turning against its own indwelling Christ. Established belief, guarding the crowd and its comforts, votes to destroy the higher awareness that threatens the whole structure of borrowed authority. Death here is the release of the inner light from the body, the very thing the outer religion fears because it cannot control what it cannot cage.
What is playing out is the ancient collision between institutional faith and the living presence within: the organized mind would rather kill the inner Christ than surrender its power over the masses. The sentence passed is the self condemning the truest part of itself to preserve the safety of the crowd.
Death: the symbolic release of the angle of light from the body, the freeing of the inner Christ from its confinement in flesh

Where am I going along with the room against something I already know?
The best leading leaves people feeling they did it themselves, and the worst clings to control and fears what it cannot hold. Authority that needs obedience has already lost the thing it was for.
A system built to protect an insight will eventually protect itself instead, and it will sacrifice the insight to do it. What the group fears most is the voice it cannot manage.
If I am not for myself, who will be, and if I am only for myself, what am I. The crowd's comfort is never a good enough reason to vote against what you know.
