Smallness is chosen deliberately here, and that is God's regular method. He works through the overlooked town, the unimportant family, the person nobody would shortlist, so that when something great happens no one can credit the setting.

CATHOLIC
Smallness is chosen deliberately here, and that is God's regular method. He works through the overlooked town, the unimportant family, the person nobody would shortlist, so that when something great happens no one can credit the setting.
The promised ruler has two origins at once. He starts in a specific village on a datable morning, and he also has no start at all. Christian faith holds both without softening either: the child is genuinely a newborn and genuinely eternal. That is why a birth in an obscure place can matter to the whole world. The eternal Son entered a real address and a real bloodline, and nothing about him was invented on the way.

The treasure is buried in the ruin you walked past. What looks too broken or too ordinary to matter is exactly where the search ends.
