Nehemiah 7:65 · World English Bible
The governor told that they should not eat of the most holy things until a priest stood up to minister with Urim and Thummim.
The holy food is withheld behind a demand for divining tools, and that demand is the corruption, not the cure. Urim and Thummim were dice the priest cast to tell fortunes, a sorcery dressed as sacred office, and here the most holy things are barred until such a diviner stands up.

ESOTERIC
The holy food is withheld behind a demand for divining tools, and that demand is the corruption, not the cure. Urim and Thummim were dice the priest cast to tell fortunes, a sorcery dressed as sacred office, and here the most holy things are barred until such a diviner stands up. The awakened person outgrows this: the true nourishment within is fenced off so long as a person still waits on omens and casts lots for direction instead of feeding directly on what is holy.
What keeps the inner food out of reach is the habit of consulting the dice. The gate stays shut, the holy thing untasted, until that reliance on divination is set down.
Urim and Thummim: the dice cast by the priest for divination, the sorcery of reading omens that the awakened person must outgrow Most holy things: the inner nourishment of spirit, fenced off from a person still ruled by fortune-telling
Esoteric lens
What good thing have I been keeping just out of reach until I get a sign?
Without going out the door you can know what matters, and the one who keeps running outside to look learns less, not more. The knowing you need is not out there waiting to be read off a sign.
A student kept asking the master for a sign before he would sit. The master said the sitting is the sign, and you have been postponing your own breakfast.
We run to fortune-tellers about things that are not ours to control, when the one thing that is ours, how we meet it, needs no prediction at all.
