Numbers 23:19 Meaning God Is Not a Man
God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not make it good?

2 natures are held apart here, but not the 2 a careless reader expects. God stands for the changeless spirit within, the deep center that does not shift with mood or hunger.

ESOTERIC
2 natures are held apart here, but not the 2 a careless reader expects. God stands for the changeless spirit within, the deep center that does not shift with mood or hunger. Man and son of man are named together as one and the same creature, the ordinary human self that lies and turns back on its word because it is ruled by the swinging body. What the spirit within promises, it performs, for it has no lower appetite to reverse it.
The steadiness described is the mark of the awakened center in a person: it does not repent or take back its word the way the restless flesh does, because it is not moved by fear or craving.
Esoteric lens
Which of my promises depend on being in a good mood?
There is a part of you that can stay level while everything around it shifts, and keeping it level is most of the work. Mood is weather, and weather is not the mountain.
The still center holds while the surface churns. Acting from the churn means taking back today what you promised yesterday.
Craving and fear are what make a person unreliable, to others and to themselves. Watch them long enough and they lose the power to run your word.
