Proverbs 10:9 Meaning He Who Walks Blamelessly Walks Surely

He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out.

What does Proverbs 10:9 mean?

A mind with nothing to hide moves through the world in safety, because honesty and peace are the same thing. When there is no secret guilt to guard, there is nothing to defend, and such a mind walks without fear, sure of its footing because it has stopped setting traps for itself.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

A mind with nothing to hide moves through the world in safety, because honesty and peace are the same thing. When there is no secret guilt to guard, there is nothing to defend, and such a mind walks without fear, sure of its footing because it has stopped setting traps for itself.

The mind that twists its own purpose, hiding its motives even from itself, is exposed by the very concealment it attempts. Guilt cannot stay buried; what is pushed out of sight shows up as fear of the world, so the crookedness the ego tried to hide is precisely what betrays it and keeps it uneasy.

Ways: the mind's chosen path, either a straight walk in the peace of having nothing to hide or a twisted road that its own concealed guilt betrays

Live Proverbs 10:9 today

  1. If you have been avoiding one small truth, an unopened bill, an unanswered message, a number you do not want to see, open it today. The dread is usually bigger than the thing.
  2. Tell one person something true that you softened last time. Not a confession, just the actual version. Honesty makes the room between you easier to stand in.
  3. Under pressure, when a half true answer would smooth things over, say the plain one instead. You will walk out of the room without anything to keep track of.

What am I carrying that I would rather no one saw?

Live so that you would not mind your life being read aloud. Nothing is heavier to carry than something that must stay hidden.

Tao Te Ching

The straight path needs no cleverness. What is honest moves easily, while what is bent spends all its strength keeping itself bent.

Buddhism · Eightfold Path

Right speech is simple enough to walk in. One truthful word needs no upkeep, and a careful lie needs guarding forever.
