Proverbs 12:14 Meaning A Man Shall Be Satisfied with Good

A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth. The work of a man’s hands shall be rewarded to him.

What does Proverbs 12:14 mean?

The mind is fed by what it extends. Words of blessing return as peace to the one who spoke them, and the work of the hands comes home to its own maker, because in truth a mind receives only what it gives.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

The mind is fed by what it extends. Words of blessing return as peace to the one who spoke them, and the work of the hands comes home to its own maker, because in truth a mind receives only what it gives. Nothing goes out that does not circle back. What looks like reward from outside is only the mind meeting itself.

So the question is never what the world will give, but what a person chooses to send. Extend fear and fear returns; extend love and love is what comes back. A mind is always being handed its own choice, made visible.

Mouth: the mind's power to extend itself in speech, the outgoing word of blessing or attack that returns to its speaker Hands: the mind's power to act and to give, the works that come home to their maker as the very thing they were

Live Proverbs 12:14 today

  1. Send one message today whose only purpose is to make another person feel seen. No ask attached, no follow up expected, just the thing you have been meaning to tell them.
  2. At dinner or in the car, say the appreciation out loud that you usually assume is understood. Watch how the room changes, and let yourself be part of the change.
  3. When someone is short with you at the counter or on a call, answer in the tone you want to be living in rather than matching theirs. You are deciding what comes back to you next.

What am I sending out all day without meaning to, and would I want it handed back?

Speech that is true, kind, and useful is itself a form of discipline. It shapes the speaker as much as the one who hears it.
