Proverbs 13:21 · World English Bible
Misfortune pursues sinners, but prosperity rewards the righteous.
What seems to chase a mind from outside is the very guilt it carries within. Fear cannot come after anyone who has laid its cause down; it can only follow the thought that still believes in its own wrongness, for the pursuer and the pursued are one.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
What seems to chase a mind from outside is the very guilt it carries within. Fear cannot come after anyone who has laid its cause down; it can only follow the thought that still believes in its own wrongness, for the pursuer and the pursued are one. The mind that condemns itself will meet condemnation everywhere, because it is looking at the world through the eyes of its own attack.
The one who has forgiven has nothing left to run from, and so peace is not a reward earned but the natural quiet of a mind that no longer accuses. Good is simply what remains when guilt has been set aside.
Christian Psychology lens
What am I running from that is only my own opinion of me?
The harm a person fears is born from their own mind, the way rust comes out of the iron itself. What eats at you was made where you stand, not sent from outside.
Nothing outside you can hurt you; the wound is in your judgment about it. Drop the judgment and the pursuit stops, because there was never anyone chasing.
The one who has nothing to defend has nothing to lose, and so moves through the world unharmed. There is no handle on a person who is not holding on.
