Within one mind, two claimants press their case. One thought has quietly learned to serve what is true, asking nothing for itself; another was born of the sense of separation and carries the burden of guilt, which it shows to the world as shame.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
Within one mind, two claimants press their case. One thought has quietly learned to serve what is true, asking nothing for itself; another was born of the sense of separation and carries the burden of guilt, which it shows to the world as shame. The gift of the mind does not pass by birthright to the part that feels unworthy and afraid. It falls instead to whatever thought has become willing to serve love, and this willingness is what wisdom means.
So the mind need not wait for the guilty part to be punished or cast out. It has only to see that its true belonging was never earned by fear, and never lost by it either. What is real in the mind is shared, not seized, and it comes to rest wherever the choice for love is finally made.
Servant: the thought in the mind that has laid down its own demands and learned to serve what is true, the humble willingness that inherits everything Son: the part of the mind born of separation, the heir who feels unworthy and turns his hidden guilt outward as shame Inheritance: what belongs to the mind by its own nature, the peace and worth that are given rather than earned Brethren: the many thoughts of one mind, seen at last as sharing a single estate rather than competing for it

Am I trying to earn a place that was already mine?
The sage stays low and asks for nothing, and so everything comes to them. What grasps is left with little.
The one who sweeps the floor without complaint often understands more than the one with the title. Willingness, not rank, is what receives the teaching.
Act for the work itself rather than for what you will be owed, and you are already free. The reward follows the hands that stopped demanding it.
