Proverbs 20:6 · World English Bible
Many men claim to be men of unfailing love, but who can find a faithful man?
The ego is forever announcing its virtue, because a self built on separation must keep proving it is good enough to escape the guilt it secretly carries. All this proclaiming is fear wearing the mask of worth.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
The ego is forever announcing its virtue, because a self built on separation must keep proving it is good enough to escape the guilt it secretly carries. All this proclaiming is fear wearing the mask of worth. Faithfulness cannot be found in that noise, for it is not a thing to display but a steadiness in one teacher, a mind that has stopped defending itself and simply keeps choosing love.
The rare and quiet integrity the question searches for is not louder goodness but a mind so at rest in its innocence that it no longer needs to be seen as good.
Faithful man: the part of the mind that no longer defends its worth but rests steadily in one teacher, the innocence that needs no witness
Christian Psychology lens
Who would I be today if no one were watching, and could I just be that?
One who shows off is not trusted, and one who boasts has nothing behind it. What stands on its own does not have to announce itself.
Stop talking about what a good person should be and just be one. The performance and the thing itself cannot occupy the same hour.
Say little and do much, and greet everyone with a kind face. The quiet version is the real one.
