Proverbs 21:9 Meaning It Is Better to Dwell
It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop than to share a house with a contentious woman.

Proverbs 21:9 · World English Bible
It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop than to share a house with a contentious woman.
The mind has room for only one teacher at a time, and the choice is between a small quiet place with love and a spacious life spent in conflict. The wide house is the ego's promise of much, filled with the endless quarrel of a mind at war with itself, projecting its own unrest onto everything near.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
The mind has room for only one teacher at a time, and the choice is between a small quiet place with love and a spacious life spent in conflict. The wide house is the ego's promise of much, filled with the endless quarrel of a mind at war with itself, projecting its own unrest onto everything near. The bare corner in the open air is the single thought of peace, which asks for almost nothing of the world and gives the mind the only rest it has ever wanted.
What seems a choice between more and less is a choice between war and quiet. A mind that would rather be at peace in a corner has understood that no amount of room can shelter it from a quarrel it carries inside.
A corner of the housetop: the small, exposed place of peace the mind can always reach, the single loving thought that asks nothing of the world A brawling woman: the ego's restless voice within, the inner quarrel a mind projects outward and then meets as strife wherever it turns A wide house: the ego's promise of abundance that turns out to be a spacious life filled with unending conflict
Christian Psychology lens
Which quarrel am I carrying around today that no amount of space will fix?
There is no greater fortune than knowing you already have enough. Discontent will refurnish any size of house and stay discontent.
A quiet mind in a bare room is at ease, and a restless one is cramped in a palace. The room was never the problem.
You travel and move and rebuild, and the same unquiet person arrives every time. Peace has to be made where you stand or it is not made at all.
