CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

Everything of worth has already been given to the mind; nothing essential has been withheld. The teaching of love is complete, written into the very center of a mind that has forgotten it possesses these things. What is called counsel is the steady reminder that the answer was never missing, only overlooked by a mind grown used to seeking outside itself for what it already holds.

A mind convinced of its own lack looks everywhere for wisdom, as though it must be earned or found abroad. But the excellent things were inscribed within from the beginning, and learning is only the slow, glad discovery that the mind already carries what it thought it had to go and find.

  1. Before you search for one more article, podcast or thread on the thing you are struggling with, sit for two minutes and ask yourself what you already know. The answer is usually closer than the next tab.
  2. When someone comes to you unsure of what to do, resist handing them a solution and ask what they already sense is right. Most people are carrying their answer and waiting for permission to trust it.
  3. Under pressure today, instead of scrambling for new input, go back to the one thing you are certain of and start there. You have more than you think you have.

What do you already know that you keep looking for somewhere else?
