Proverbs 27:22 Meaning Though You Grind a Fool
Though you grind a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with grain, yet his foolishness will not be removed from him.

Proverbs 27:22 · World English Bible
Though you grind a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with grain, yet his foolishness will not be removed from him.
No amount of pounding will break the ego out of a mind, because force belongs to the very system it would try to overthrow. The mistaken thought is not a thing to be crushed but a choice being made again and again, and pain cannot reach a decision.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
No amount of pounding will break the ego out of a mind, because force belongs to the very system it would try to overthrow. The mistaken thought is not a thing to be crushed but a choice being made again and again, and pain cannot reach a decision. A mind battered by circumstance only clutches its error tighter, mistaking the blows for proof that the world is cruel.
What the pestle cannot do, a change of teacher does gently. The ego is not destroyed but simply set down, the moment the mind decides it no longer wants to hold it.
Mortar and pestle: the belief that suffering and force can correct the mind, the punishment that only drives error deeper Wheat: the true thoughts of the mind that lie mingled with its errors, waiting to be chosen rather than beaten out
Christian Psychology lens
What in you have you been trying to beat out, when you could simply put it down?
The softest thing in the world moves through the hardest. Water does what the hammer cannot.
Hatred never ends through hatred; it ends when it is set down. Force applied to a wrong view only teaches the view to defend itself.
The wound is where the light gets in, but only if you stop beating on it. What opens a heart is warmth, not pressure.
