Proverbs 27:8 Meaning As a Bird That Wanders From
As a bird that wanders from her nest, so is a man who wanders from his home.

Proverbs 27:8 · World English Bible
As a bird that wanders from her nest, so is a man who wanders from his home.
There is a home the mind never truly leaves, though it seems to wander far. A bird strayed from its nest is the image of a mind that has forgotten where it belongs, drifting through the world for a peace it carries within and cannot find outside.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
There is a home the mind never truly leaves, though it seems to wander far. A bird strayed from its nest is the image of a mind that has forgotten where it belongs, drifting through the world for a peace it carries within and cannot find outside. The wandering is not a journey through space but a turning of attention away from the mind's one place of rest, its union with love, which it left in imagination only.
The restlessness a mind mistakes for freedom is only homesickness misunderstood. It does not have to travel back. It has only to stop wandering in thought and let itself be found where it already is.
Bird: the mind that has strayed in thought from its home, seeking outside the peace it carries within. Nest: the mind's true place of rest, its union with love, left in imagination and never in fact. Place: that same abiding home, not a location to be reached but a belonging to be remembered.
Christian Psychology lens
What are you looking for somewhere else that is already here?
You do not need to go out to know the world. What you are looking for has not moved, and the going is what makes it seem far.
The mind that chases peace in the next place keeps missing it in this one. Restlessness is not a sign the ground is wrong, it is the wandering itself.
The self you are searching for is the one doing the searching. It was never elsewhere, only unrecognized.
