Proverbs 3:4 Meaning So You Will Find Favor

So you will find favor, and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

What does Proverbs 3:4 mean?

When a mind carries mercy and truth as its constant vision, what it meets in the world changes, because the world it sees is only the report of how it has chosen to look. Favour in the sight of God was never something to be won.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

When a mind carries mercy and truth as its constant vision, what it meets in the world changes, because the world it sees is only the report of how it has chosen to look. Favour in the sight of God was never something to be won. It is simply what a mind recognizes it has always had, once it stops projecting a judge who withholds it.

And favour in the sight of man is the same recognition turned outward. A mind that has forgiven itself finds no accuser anywhere, because the accusation it feared was its own, seen in a mirror.

  1. Before you scroll today, try the thought that nobody is keeping a file on you. Then watch how much lighter the same feed reads.
  2. In your next conversation, drop the quiet work of figuring out whether the other person approves of you, and just listen to what they are actually saying.
  3. When a terse email or a one-word reply lands and your stomach drops, name it plainly: this is my fear filling in a blank, not information.

How much of the judgment you feel from others today is a voice you are supplying yourself?

Things do not reach you as they are, only as you receive them, so the harshness you keep meeting may be the harshness you keep bringing.

Zen

A mirror shows no favorites. What glares back at you in it is your own face, and arguing with the glass changes nothing.

What you have been searching for was never withheld from you. It was the searching itself that hid it.
