Proverbs 30:16 Meaning Sheol
Sheol, the barren womb; the earth that is not satisfied with water; and the fire that doesn’t say, ‘Enough.’

Proverbs 30:16 · World English Bible
Sheol, the barren womb; the earth that is not satisfied with water; and the fire that doesn’t say, ‘Enough.’
Each of these is a picture of the same emptiness the ego calls itself, a mind that swallows and stays hollow. The grave takes and never gives back, the closed womb aches for what it cannot hold, the parched ground drinks and remains dry, and the fire consumes and only wants more.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
Each of these is a picture of the same emptiness the ego calls itself, a mind that swallows and stays hollow. The grave takes and never gives back, the closed womb aches for what it cannot hold, the parched ground drinks and remains dry, and the fire consumes and only wants more. Together they show a hunger that cannot be answered from outside, for the lack is not in the world but in the mind that looks and finds itself wanting.
Wholeness was never something to be poured in. A mind that turns from fear to love discovers it was full already, and the four hungers fall silent at once.
Grave: the mind that only takes and gives nothing back, the appetite of the ego that swallows all and stays empty Barren womb: the ache of a mind that believes it lacks, reaching for a fullness it is sure it cannot hold Dry earth: the parched inner ground that drinks and is never satisfied, the thirst no outer thing can quench Fire: the craving that consumes whatever it is given and only calls for more, the ego's refusal of enough
Christian Psychology lens
What am I trying to pour into a place that may already be full?
The one who knows they have enough is wealthy no matter what they hold. Chasing more is how people lose what they already had.
A hungry ghost has a mouth too small to ever be filled, and keeps eating anyway. The problem was never the amount of food.
You keep searching the whole world for water while standing in the river. The thirst is real, the emptiness is not.
