Proverbs 5:20 Meaning For Why Should You
For why should you, my son, be captivated with an adulteress? Why embrace the bosom of another?

Proverbs 5:20 · World English Bible
For why should you, my son, be captivated with an adulteress? Why embrace the bosom of another?
The mind leaves the love it holds within to pursue what promises satisfaction and delivers only thirst, and the strangeness of this wandering is worth seeing. What seems foreign and outside, forever just beyond reach, is the ego's endless allure, and to embrace it is to trust the very thing that keeps the mind separate and unfed.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
The mind leaves the love it holds within to pursue what promises satisfaction and delivers only thirst, and the strangeness of this wandering is worth seeing. What seems foreign and outside, forever just beyond reach, is the ego's endless allure, and to embrace it is to trust the very thing that keeps the mind separate and unfed. The question here is gentle, meant not to shame but to wake.
Why chase what cannot fill when what fills is already held? A mind that hears the question turns back and remembers where its peace has always lived.
Strange woman: the ego's alluring promise that fulfillment lies outside, the seductive belief in separation that draws the mind away from its own source Bosom of a stranger: the false comfort the mind seeks in what is foreign to it, the embrace of the outside world that leaves it emptier than before
Christian Psychology lens
What am I chasing that has never once filled me when I got it?
The teaching says the ache comes from thirst, from wanting the next thing to be the thing. The chase is the pain, not the lack of what you are chasing.
Knowing when you have enough is the only real wealth. The one who keeps reaching stays poor no matter what arrives.
He wrote that it is not the person who has little who is poor, but the one who wants more. No amount of having cures the wanting.
