Proverbs 7:15 Meaning Therefore I Came Out to Meet You

Therefore I came out to meet you, to diligently seek your face, and I have found you.

What does Proverbs 7:15 mean?

Temptation flatters the mind by making it feel chosen, sought after, singled out as though it were the one thing desired. This is the ego's most practiced art, to convince a mind of its own emptiness and then present itself as the sole answer to a lack it invented.

Temptation flatters the mind by making it feel chosen, sought after, singled out as though it were the one thing desired. This is the ego's most practiced art, to convince a mind of its own emptiness and then present itself as the sole answer to a lack it invented. To be diligently sought feels like being loved, but here it is only being hunted.

The seeking of the face is the ego's counterfeit of recognition, the pretense that it truly knows and wants the mind it means to divide. A mind that feels the warmth of being pursued can ask what is really wanted of it, for love does not stalk what it already holds as innocent.

Face: the mind's own presence, the true self the ego pretends to seek while intending only to keep it divided

  2. When someone makes you feel singled out and special early in a conversation, stay friendly and keep listening for the ask. Being chosen quickly is rarely about you.
  3. Under pressure, when being flattered makes a bad idea feel reasonable, say you will think about it overnight. The pull to say yes right now is the whole technique.

Praise and blame both pass through like weather. A mind that chases the warm one has agreed to be moved by the cold one too.
