Proverbs 7:24 Meaning Now Therefore

Now therefore, sons, listen to me. Pay attention to the words of my mouth.

What does Proverbs 7:24 mean?

After the long picture of a mind undone by its own agreement, another voice asks for attention, and this turning of the ear is itself the beginning of the correction. To hearken is to grant that there is a second teacher present, that the first voice was not the only one.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

After the long picture of a mind undone by its own agreement, another voice asks for attention, and this turning of the ear is itself the beginning of the correction. To hearken is to grant that there is a second teacher present, that the first voice was not the only one. A mind cannot be rescued while it listens to fear alone, and the simple willingness to hear differently is where the miracle starts.

The children addressed are the innocent part of every mind, the part that was never truly lost and can always be spoken to again. Nothing is required but the readiness to listen. That readiness opens the door.

Children: the innocent mind that has not stopped being able to learn, the self still open to a gentler teacher

Live Proverbs 7:24 today

  1. Give yourself five minutes today with no input at all. No podcast on the walk, no music in the kitchen, nothing in your ears. Something quieter than your usual thoughts gets a chance to be heard.
  2. In your next real conversation, listen all the way to the end of what the other person is saying without preparing your reply underneath. You will hear something you would have missed.
  3. When someone tells you something hard about yourself today, try just saying tell me more. You do not have to agree. The openness itself is where anything changes.

What would I hear today if I stopped filling every quiet minute?
