Proverbs 8:18 Meaning With Me Are Riches

With me are riches, honor, enduring wealth, and prosperity.

What does Proverbs 8:18 mean?

The wealth the inner Teacher offers is not the kind that can be lost, because it was never a thing outside the mind to begin with. The ego chases riches and standing in a world it fears, and all of it crumbles, for whatever depends on the body and on time is already passing.

The wealth the inner Teacher offers is not the kind that can be lost, because it was never a thing outside the mind to begin with. The ego chases riches and standing in a world it fears, and all of it crumbles, for whatever depends on the body and on time is already passing. What love holds out instead is a peace that circumstance cannot touch and a worth that no attack can lower.

To be right with love is simply to have released every grievance and seen the other as innocent. That release is the durable treasure, the only having that time cannot take back.

Riches: the inner peace and abundance a mind discovers when it stops defending a separate self, wealth no loss can reach Honour: the worth a mind recognizes in itself and in everyone once guilt is laid down, a dignity nothing outside can grant or remove

Live Proverbs 8:18 today

  1. Scroll past one thing today that makes you feel behind, and name what you already have that it was trying to sell you. The feed runs on that gap.
  2. When someone tells you good news you quietly wanted for yourself, be glad for them out loud. Their gain takes nothing from you, and the relief of meaning it is the point.
  3. In the week's tightest moment, money or status or a comparison that stings, ask what you would still have if the thing fell through. The honest answer is usually most of what matters.

What do I own that nothing happening today could take from me?

It is not the person with little who is poor, it is the person who wants more. Wealth you can lose was never really yours.

Tao Te Ching 44

The more you store up, the more there is to lose, and the fear of losing it costs you the peace you were buying. Knowing when you have enough is the only lasting security.

Buddhism · Dhammapada

Not even a shower of gold coins satisfies a craving. The wanting grows with the having, so the only mind that is full is the one that stopped counting.
